Mugglenet Academia (featuring special guest John Granger)
Friday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Common Room
MuggleNet Academia will be hosting a live podcast located in Ascendio’s Common Room on Friday, July 13th at 11 AM EDT. If you’re not already familiar with Academia, it’s a fresh section of MuggleNet that explores, in detail, the politics and themes of the Harry Potter books (from an academic standpoint) and how they relate to our world. Orchestrated by MN Staffer Keith Hawk and “The Hogwarts Professor” John Granger, Academia has hosted several special guests from all over the fandom even in its infancy, and we have no reason to doubt that Ascendio’s show will be any different.

Friday, 4:30-6 p.m. Friday, Venetian V.

Documentary producer Hansi Oppenheimer (Color Me Obsessed) is interviewing fan fiction writers and readers for film project about the history of fan fiction, the writing/beta process, and related topics with fanfic writers – and readers – and she’ll be conducting interviews during Ascendio. If you’re interested in participating, please email Hansi at heoppenheimer@gmail.com as she’ll be coordinating directly with interviewees. It sounds like a terrific project, and Ascendio is excited to be participating in it! Read more about the project at this link: http://fanboynation.com/oppenheimer-fanfic-project/
