Film Wizardry: The Ascendio Film Festival

Ascendio is proud to announce “Film Wizardry: The Ascendio Film Festival.”  It will be held on Saturday, July 14 from 7 p.m. in the Venetian IV room.

The Battle of Hogwarts

Battle of Hogwarts is a fan film created and directed by Oliver Hollingdale and his team at Sunnymeade Films, this short follows numerous wizards and witches during the great battle around Hogwarts castle. The director: “We love all the Harry Potter movies and books, DH: Part 2 was great but it missed out key moments that we felt should have been included such as more focused duels and the deaths as well as the emotional impacts of main characters. With Battle of Hogwarts we want to bring our own interpretation to the short and we hope fans will love our project.”   More…

The Death Eaters are closing in and The Order of the Phoenix are fighting on the losing side of the first Wizarding war. The Potter Prophecy

Directed by Ken Guzzetti and Erin Pyne, The Potter Prophecy

explores the events leading up to the Potter’s murder. After the Prophecy is revealed by Trelawney, James Potter meets with his friends, the Marauders, one last time before going into hiding. He asks Sirius to be his Secret Keeper, but Sirius convinces James that Peter Pettigrew would be the better choice.  Peter betrays them to Voldemort, who sets off on Halloween night to kill Harry.

The girls of Not Literally, Dana and Ginny, met in 2009 and bonded over their love of macaroni and cheese and mutual endgame of “winning the internet.” When they met Erik in 2011, their videographer, editor, director, the stars aligned and Not Literally was born. Ginny is an English student who likes Star Wars and t-shirts that are references to things; Dana is a social media manager who likes cakes with daisies on them and Ikea. Erik is a motion graphics artist who likes running and being so focused on filming that he doesn’t laugh at Dana and Ginny’s jokes. Which are hilarious.   More….today’s generation grew up with.
