What if you could use the Deathly Hallows to bring back friends, family and those you held a strong respect for? The trio does it! With the assistance of Gilderoy Lockhart, they shall present the Live! Alumni House Tournament!
Shannon Bowden, Tara Connelly & Tina McKinnis make up House of Black Productions, the creators of the Live! Wizard Chessmatch that was performed at Infinitus in 2010, return to Ascendio with another live show to pay homage to Hogwarts. Characters are called back from the Veil to participate in a “friendly” challenge to ultimately see which house of Hogwarts would prevail.
The cast rehearsed in Sarasota, Florida where they use both primitive weapons and odd character props to choreograph fights, scuffles and skits that will make up the epic living breathing cosplay of all cosplays. Audience participation will be needed and it’s important that you choose your house!
Join Luna, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Gilderoy, Prof. Snape and SO MANY MORE SURPRISES lurking from the veil. Who will return? Who will partake in such a challenge?

BIOS for the directors of the Live! Alumni House Tournament
It started as a fleeting idea at Lumos when Shannon (Serade Black) and Tara (Tatiana422) were discussing how amazing it would be to have a live wizard chessmatch incorporating the characters loved and hated from the series. At Azkatraz, all this came to fruition, when they immediately ran downstairs and attacked the future Infinitus Minister of Magic with the idea. The idea was then birthed after two month rehearsals with a local cast trained in staged and stunt combat who were just as thrilled to be involved.
Two years later, they’ve written a new show with a similar style, only this year it’s a tribute to Hogwarts as a “friendly” Hogwarts House Tournament, using students and it’s Alumni. By calling upon the Deathly Hallows, beloved characters return to us to from beyond the Veil to participate in challenges amongst one another and hosted by none other than Gilderoy Lockhart.
Shannon Bowden (Bellatrix LeStrange) – is a graduate of the State College of Florida in Mass Communications with a minor in Digital Film Production. She works for Delta Air Lines and lives in Sarasota, Florida with her husband (Sirius Black) and 10 month old son, Tristan. This is her 8th Harry Potter convention and she hopes to keep the magic alive, even after HPEF.
Tara Connelly (Rowena Ravenclaw) – is a graduate of Graphic Design and works as a designer for an advertising agency and lives in Sarasota with her daughter, Tatiana. This is her 8th Harry Potter convention, she’s very grateful for all those she’s met through the fandom, and most of all she is pleased to know that even after HPEF moves on, Hogwarts is only a short drive away.
Tina McKinnis (Helga Hufflepuff) – works for the County of Sarasota and lives with her husband (Godric Gryffindor) in Sarasota with their three dogs. This is her 4th Harry Potter convention and one of her favorite Harry Potter memories is being at Hogwarts on it’s official opening day (after standing in line for 8 hours).
